Jonathan Hayward, PA-C, joined Lilly Dermatology in July 2024 after hearing great word-of-mouth about the practice’s reputation as an independent, patient-focused dermatology clinic. With nineteen years of experience in the field, Jonathan brings extensive knowledge in medical dermatology, cancer screening, and the treatment of a wide variety of skin conditions. His decision to join Lilly Dermatology reflects his belief in practicing medicine in an environment dedicated to exceptional patient care, teamwork, and compassion.

What Inspires His Work

Jonathan’s interest in dermatology began early, during his college years at Texas Tech, where he completed his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Drawn to the visual and hands-on nature of dermatology, he actively pursued opportunities in the field following graduation and has been practicing ever since. Over the years, he has developed a special passion for skin cancer prevention and has performed tens of thousands of skin cancer screenings, helping patients detect and treat conditions early. His approach to patient care is guided by his core values of honesty, empathy, and compassion.

Education and Expertise

Jonathan earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Texas Tech. He has spent nearly two decades specializing in dermatology, with expertise in:

Medical dermatology, including the diagnosis and treatment of complex skin disorders
Skin cancer screening and prevention, with tens of thousands of screenings performed
Patient education and long-term skin health management

Life Beyond the Practice

Originally from the United Kingdom, Jonathan moved to the United States in his early twenties. After living in Texas and Wisconsin, he now calls Michigan home, where he resides with his pug, Poppy. Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys reading, movies, traveling, video games, and composing electronic music. His life is grounded in the values of honesty, empathy, and compassion—principles that guide both his personal and professional life.
